It is also very important that you bring sun tan lotion, lip balm, paracetamol and we’d advise considering getting some altitude sickness medication as it isn’t much fun.  We are very smart about how we tackle the altitude but it will usually affect a number of people on tour. Remember our starting point is higher than the tallest part of Australia and twice as tall as anywhere in the UK – and we only travel higher!

I can tell you that the dreaded Delhi belly is not restricted to Delhi. Some call it the Tourist Trot but we like to call it the Himalayan Hop. Whilst the chances are good that you’ll be hopping for a day or two there are precautions you can take. Grab yourself some Travelan before leaving home and take before every meal. Forget about salads for two weeks and bottled water is a must.

If none of the above works you’re going to need Imodium

“I know after riding for 2hrs on day 6 with a pain in the guts that could only be relieved by hanging my bum over a ravine at Pang and squirting into the abyss, I was glad for its efficiency”Ash Martin speaking about his appreciation for Imodium during his 2014 Top of the World adventure.
